Open Band Booster board positions for the 2025-2026 school year
These positions are critical for our band booster organization to run smoothly, and we promise that they are a lot of fun! Joining the band booster board is a great way to make friends with your fellow band parents. We would love for you to be a part of this crazy crew!
Please consider filling one of these open positions so that 2025-2026 is the best year yet. Email Tara & Savita at chsbandboosterpres2@gmail.com if you are interested.
Executive Board:
Vice President: When you have an amazing board like we do, the Vice President and President roles primarily consist of running the monthly meetings, making sure that the other board members have the support they need, and working closely with the band directors to help them achieve their vision for the Coppell Band program. In the past few years, the vice president has also worked to secure our corporate sponsors (like Anamia's, Frost Bank, etc.). The 2025-2026 vice president should be prepared to move into the role of president (hopefully co-president!) in the 2026-2027 school year. Parents of band students who will be graduating in 2027 or 2028, we'd love it if you would consider helping to steer this band booster ship!
Student Accounts: Part of funding a competitive band program means collecting participation fees from all of the band families, and the co-treasurers need assistance in keeping good records. The person in this role works closely with the co-treasurers, helps record 350+ band families' participation fees, and provides other treasury support as necessary. Accounting background is not critical, but attention to detail is a must.

Band Booster Board:
Color Guard Liaison: We need a guard parent to make sure that the unique needs and of our amazing color guard are met. This position works very closely with our fabulous color guard director. In the fall, the focus is on the marching show; in the spring, it's winter guard season! Coppell High School Band has hosted two spring winter guard competitions in each of the past few years, and the color guard liaison helps rally the troops and organize volunteers for these huge fundraising events.
Chaperone Coordinator - JV Band: In this role you will work with the volunteer coordinator to create signups for all JV events that require chaperones. If the JV band attends an event that is not on the CHS campus, you will make sure that each chaperone has their band bag ready. These bags have a first aid kit, emergency snack, and more. The bags are already put together; they just need to be checked periodically to make sure they are always ready to go. This role's responsibilities occur during marching season in the fall semester.
Concessions Chairs (3 needed): Did you volunteer in Concessions and enjoy it? We need a few experienced concession parents to volunteer to manage the concession stands that the band operates at Buddy Echols Field. This role involves opening the stands as well as orienting the volunteers in each stand for food preparation and sales. The Concessions Chairs monitor inventory to direct ordering after events and help get the money to the treasurers. This role is vital to the function of the concession stands, so reach out if we can count on you! It also comes with a HUGE perk: your band student's participation fees are waived. The concession stands provide the single largest source of fundraising for our band and we know the concessions chairs are absolutely critical to the success of this program.
Fundraising Chair: In addition to band fees, the concession stand profits, and corporate sponsorships, the band also participates in other fundraisers to raise the money needed to run our program. In the past, we have sold butter braids and mums, and we are always looking for new ideas for fundraisers. The person in this role helps plan, promote, and execute the fundraisers.
Hospitality Assistants: Help the Hospitality Chair ensure that all guests (judges/directors/volunteers) have a room and refreshments designated to meet their needs/requirements at various events (mostly in the spring semester). This is not a voting board position, but it is still very, very important! We need several of these assistants.
JV Band Liaison: This person would answer questions from other JV Band parents as needed (to help reduce the communication burden for the JV Band director). If possible, it would be great if that person could draw upon experience from being the parent of a JV Band member in at least one prior school year to answer the questions. If you were not the parent of a JV Band member in a prior school year, then you could communicate with JV Band director and other former JV Band parents as needed to obtain information. This role is only needed during marching band season.
Snack Parent: You will coordinate the snacks that all of the band parents donate and make sure that the bus snack bins are stocked with food for our band students to enjoy after a band event away from CHS. This role is mostly active in the fall with a very quiet spring.
Uniforms Chair: This role requires a significant number of hours during marching season, but the spring season slows down quite a bit. You will inventory & label uniforms, fit students, ensure that the uniforms get cleaned periodically, and help our band look sharp at every event. The band will have new formal uniforms in this upcoming year, which is really exciting!
Volunteer Coordinator: Did you use Membership Toolkit while serving on a PTO board? This role primarily consists of creating volunteer signups with the MTK software's signups module. Our amazing 2024-2025 volunteer coordinator did a LOT of the hard work creating the signups for our first year using MTK, so from 2025-2026 forward, the volunteer coordinator will be able to duplicate existing signups and just update details (plus make any requested tweaks). If you haven't used Membership Toolkit before (or just need a refresher), we will train you! The volunteer coordinator needs to be very responsive to signup requests; at times, we need signups created with a somewhat short turnaround time. But most of the time you will have plenty of notice.
Webmaster: Did you use Membership Toolkit while serving on a PTO board? This role consists of keeping the website looking beautiful, making requested changes, and proactively updating all of the content. The website is an important part of educating the world about our fabulous band. Programming knowledge is not necessary. If you haven't used Membership Toolkit before (or just need a refresher), we will train you!
